An organization for people earning $120,000 or less can't be owned by someone writing six-figure checks. So we're structuring the budget the same way we structure the vote: broad, small, and equal.

Many small monthly gifts mean no donor is ever large enough to steer us. A $5 supporter and a $100 supporter get the identical say in this organization: one member, one vote. Money buys the movement capacity — organizers, tools, research, chapters — and nothing else.

And because prices rose about 21% from January 2020 to December 2024 (Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI), we know exactly how carefully our members watch every dollar. The honesty block

Read this before you ever give us a dollar

Most donation pages are engineered to squeeze. This one is engineered to inform. Three things we want you to know plainly:

1. Not tax-deductible. We are organizing as a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization (in formation). Contributions to a 501(c)(4) are not tax-deductible as charitable donations. A separate 501(c)(3) educational foundation is planned for scholarships and civic education; until it exists, assume nothing you give here is deductible.

2. No political committee. There is no PAC here and none planned. Your gift funds organizing, education, research, and advocacy on issues — never a candidate's campaign.

3. Every dollar reported. Budget, financials, compensation, funds raised and spent — published to members on a regular schedule. Hold us to it: Transparency commitments.

We'd rather show you the categories now than surprise you later. The founding budget, when published, will map to these lines:

Tools & infrastructure
The member dashboard, forums, polling system, newsletter delivery, and security for member data. The unglamorous plumbing everything else stands on.
Organizers
A small paid field team that trains and supports volunteer chapter leaders — capacity, not bureaucracy. All compensation published.
Research & education
The Research Center: primary-source fact-checking, legislative tracking, and plain-English briefs members can trust and share.
State chapters
Meeting space, materials, and startup support for member-led chapters in all 50 states.
Civic education
Nonpartisan voter education — registration, deadlines, ballot logistics — and, through the planned 501(c)(3) foundation, scholarships and financial literacy programs.
